Using Adsense Channels

So you wanna know about Adsense Channels huh?

Adsense Channels allows us to keep track of your websites and pages allowing you find out which ones are getting clicks on Adsense Ads and see where the cash is being generated.

There are two types of channels:

1. URL Channels
URL channels allow you track the Adsense performance under a specific URL. The URL could be of an entire domain or subdomain or directory or even a specific page. The beauty of this is that you don't need to do any thing on the website side. Google automatically reports the Adsense performance with the URL. This is usful when you want to assess the overall performance of all pages under specific sections of your site.

2. Custom Channels
Custom Channels allows you to track the performance of a particular ad or group of Ads that you have generated. With these channels the id for the particular channel you create is included in the actual Adsense ad code that you generate. Every ad that you include this code in will report its performance under that particular channel even if they are different format sizes or appear on different pages or different websites.

You are currently allowed to create up to 200 Adsense Channels.

Google Adsense Different Ad Colours

So you wanna know about the different Adsense colours huh?

Google allows the Adsense publishers as much control over their ads as possible, this means allowing you to take control over the colour content of the ads including borders, background colours, text, title and URL colours etc.

Allowing you take control over the multiple colour variations within an ad lets you blend the Adsense ad in with your sites content. This is a key feature in getting people to click on your Adsense ads. They are obviously interested in your pages content as they are reading it, so if your Adsense ads blend in then they will more times than not click on the ads if something catches their eye. It is key that you take your time to get your ad colour scheme to fit in with your website.

The five parts of the ad which you can change the color on are:

1. The border color of the ad
2. The background color of the ad
3. The link color of the ad
4. The url color of the ad
5. The text color of the ad

Google Adsense Products

So you wanna know about the different Adsense products huh?

Different Adsense Products
Google offers 3 different variations of Adsense products, each one can be used to monitise a website. These include Adsense For Content, Adsense For Search and Referrals.

Adsense For Content

This is the most common used and by far the most useful. It exists in the form of different shaped ads which you will have no doubt seen scattered over the web. These Ads are relavent to the content of your website and you earn your revenue whenever the visitor clicks on one of these.

Adsense For Search

Adsense for search is basically what it says on the tin. It is a search bar that you place on your web page allowing your visitors to search either your website or Google's search engine. You will earn a revenue for every search performed through Asense For Search by your visitors if they click on an ad that the search produces.

Referrals

The Referrals product is a little different as you are not earning revenue through contextually matching ads on a per click basis. What you are doing is recommending useful products and services to your users. When your visitors subscribe to the product or service you receive a commission. The referral system is more like affiliate programs and they currently include products like "Google Adsense Subscription", "Google Adwords Subscription", "FireFox browser with Google home page", "Good Picasa Web Album" etc.
